Asphalt crack sealing is not only one of the best ways to prolong your asphalt, it is also very cost effective.  All of the cracks in the pavement, even down to the smallest, can turn into a costly repair project if they are not filled with a quality crack sealing product.  Water will seep into the cracks in the asphalt and the freezing and thawing causes expansion and contraction.  This will not only continue to widen the cracks but will also allow the water to get underneath the asphalt compromising the base course.  This leads to more cracks and sinking/potholes in the pavement around the area where the unfilled crack exists.  When this happens, the only way to correct the problem is to remove the asphalt around the areas affected, smooth and compact the base, and patch the area with new asphalt.  Removing and replacing asphalt is very costly and can be avoided with a properly designed pavement crack sealing program.
